Ronnie learns that Bryce is cheating on her again, but can't find it in her heart to leave him. Leo breaks more bad news that Ronnie's body is not what it used to be and is no longer suitable for appearing on the company packaging. Ronnie's halfhearted attempt to get in shape fails, so, as a last resort, young female models are brought in so she can select the body she'd least mind seeing her head pasted on top of. After a tabloid story about Bryce sleeping around hits the papers, reporters stake out Veronica's Closet trying to get a scoop on Ronnie's and Bryce's rocky romance. Unwilling to act on Olive's and Pat's advice to get even with Bryce by having affairs of her own, Ronnie instead sets up a faux romantic dinner for her and her husband to fool the press into believing the two are still happily married. But the discovery that Bryce slept with the model who's soon to be her body double finally puts Ronnie over the edge and gives her the courage to come clean and walk out on him.
Perry writes a press release with a made-up word in it, because he can't think of a synonym for "increase." Josh is bothered when Ronnie believes Perry's new word is real, but he completely loses it after the word spreads throughout the media. Her impending divorce aside, Ronnie returns to her roots as the 'Queen of Romance' by helping Leo propose to his girlfriend, Tina. Ronnie needs help of her own from Olive after she begins to miss Bryce. Olive tells Ronnie now that Bryce is gone, she has more time to spend with her women friends, but Ronnie's comment that she doesn't have any women friends upsets Olive as much as Perry's gibberish words have been upsetting Josh. Leo picks a less-than-opportune time to propose - he asks Tina to marry him while she's in the middle of an orgasm. Ronnie realizes her friendship with Olive is lacking due to faults on both of their parts; Ronnie is self-absorbed and Olive doesn't like to share things about herself. When Ronnie tries to make things up to Olive because she wants to have a woman friend, Olive invites her over to her place after work to get to know each other better. Tina accepts Leo's hand in marriage after he asks her again while they're not doing it.
When Leo thinks one of the company models is carrying around some baggage in her pants, Perry admits he once dated her and sets out to prove he didn't make out for twenty minutes with another guy. Bryce sneaks into Ronnie's apartment and tries to win her back, but she throws him out. After Ronnie turns away the press in regards to their trial separation, Bryce goes on national television and milks sympathy like there's no tomorrow. Ronnie has a change of mind after USA Today conducts a poll where 73% of the country was gullible enough to want her to take Bryce back, and she schedules an interview with Entertainment Tonight to tell her side of the story. Perry feels Ronnie should beat Bryce at his own game and cry a few crocodile tears for the press so the public sympathy vote will tilt in her favor. She can't cry during the interview, though, making Ronnie believe she is over Bryce. Olive weasels a private office bathroom out of Ronnie, but it's not very private after the builder knocks out the waterline to the main restrooms, forcing everyone on the floor to use Olive's executive washroom.
Bryce stages an all-out power play after Ronnie surprises him with a copy of his forgotten prenuptial agreement - which he wishes he hadn't gotten her to sign as he hasn't worked in the past decade, and Ronnie's been the breadwinner since then. First, Bryce maxes out all of their credit cards and empties out their joint bank accounts. Then, Ronnie pays Bryce back by calling up the police and reporting his car stolen. Finally, after Bryce gets out of jail for heisting his own car, he retaliates by filling Ronnie in on his plans to write an embarrassing tell-all book about their marriage. Knowing Bryce has got her where he wants her, Ronnie pleads with him not to write the book, but he'll only agree to that if she'll tear up the prenup. After bartering with each other, Bryce allows Ronnie to pick five humiliating things he'll leave out of the book in exchange for her beach house. Leo confides to Olive that he'd like to design lingerie, but his designs are so awful, Olive tells him he needs to dress like a woman before he can design clothes for a woman. At first resistant, Leo soon gets into ladies' panties more than anyone (including Olive) expected.
Love is in the air in a very special episode of Veronica's Closet. Josh dates a model, Carolyn, but wants to call things off when it dawns on him that there's something missing from their relationship. That something being a penis. Josh postpones the breakup after he's introduced to her rodeo cowboy brother, Tom, whom Josh becomes infatuated with. Josh hatches a plan to get to know Tom better by fixing him up with Ronnie and double-dating with Carolyn, but it backfires when romance blossoms for Ronnie and Tom, and the pair want to spend an evening alone. Rather than be stuck by himself with a girl he wanted to dump, Josh drags Carolyn over to Ronnie's apartment to crash their dinner and see Tom. The 'Queen of Romance' finds herself turning into the 'Queen of Dating Jitters' as Olive helps Ronnie cope with her nervousness. Although Tom is a perfect date and then some, everything he does reminds Ronnie of Bryce, making her wonder if it's too soon for her to see other men. Pat takes a liking to Ronnie's new housekeeper, Louisa, and the two begin a relationship of their own. Now that Leo is engaged and can't ogle other women anymore, he starts living through Perry and his liaisons.
Ronnie and Bryce have a custody battle over Buddy. Bryce's secretary, Pepper, cures Buddy's handicap. Ronnie thinks Pat is senile.
Olive's college roommate, Karen, is the C.E.O. of a toy company that wants to create a posable Veronica Chase doll as part of a collection of real-life, contemporary female role models. Ronnie longs to be depicted as a Barbie, and doesn't see eye-to-eye with Karen's and Olive's role model vision when the Veronica Chase prototype doll rolls off the assembly line with hips bigger than Cleveland. Leo warns Perry about "dating a family" in regards to Suzanne, though Perry insists he's ready to be a father. Pat and Ronnie have it out when Ronnie gets jealous after he starts dragging Louisa along with him on Ronnie's rides. Olive convinces Ronnie not to back out of her agreement by convincing her that little girls are going to love her doll, and will learn to be strong and independent from it. But that couldn't be further from the truth when a focus group of children hates playing with the miniature Ronnie. As evidenced by the fact that she's having a bastard baby in the first place, Suzanne isn't ready to enter into a long-term commitment and ends things with Perry. Pat puts his differences with Ronnie aside and comforts her after the test group response causes the toy company to eighty-six her doll.
Ronnie's Thanksgiving plans are crushed when Bryce's grandma shows up, unexpectedly not knowing of Ronnie and Bryce's separation. Bryce and Pepper then must show up, and Bryce announces to his grandma that Ronnie is pregnant.
Ronnie wants to go out with Olive's younger brother, Griffin. Olive tries to stop Ronnie, feeling she's too emotionally unstable to have another relationship while on the rebound. After Ronnie gets upset, Olive feels bad and arranges a date between the two. The tables turn after Ronnie finds out what a pretentious, long-winded bore Griffin is, and Olive wants Ronnie to continue dating Griffin after she finds out how much Griffin likes Ronnie. Pat teaches Leo how to drive when Tina's parents get them a car for a wedding present. Pat, a former negotiator, thinks Leo deserves a huge pay hike from Ronnie because he's getting married. After Ronnie turns down Pat's request for a 25% raise, Pat leads Leo out on a strike. Leo lies to Ronnie that he doesn't really want to strike and is only doing so because it means so much to Pat. Ronnie buys it and gives Leo his raise - for Pat's sake. Ronnie turns to Perry for advice on how to get Griffin to break up with her. Perry suggests using reverse psychology on Griffin, but it only succeeds in boosting Griffin's ego and making him like Ronnie more. Ronnie finally confesses to Olive that she can't stand Griffin, bringing Olive to share details about Griffin's troubled childhood.
Veronica and Olive audition to sing at Lincoln Center and Bryce comes on to Josh.
While attending a benefit, Ronnie and Olive meet two guys - Campbell, a Scotsman clad in a traditional kilt, and Alex, a veterinarian. The four of them agree to double date, unsure of who will be going out with who. Ronnie snags Campbell since she finds his accent sexy (even though she thinks he's Irish), but wants to trade with Olive when Campbell again wears a kilt on their first date. Tina's old-fashioned mother is in town, so Leo temporarily moves in with Josh to make Tina's parents believe she and Leo are not living together before marriage. But after enjoying Josh's gourmet cooking, Leo doesn't want to return to Tina. Ronnie runs into Alex while at work and begins subconsciously flirting with him. He responds to her mixed messages by grabbing her ass in the elevator. Ronnie has her fill of Campbell after he shows up for his second date in a ladies' skirt...that Ronnie happens to own the very same one of. Tina turns bitter with jealousy once she hears how good Leo's got it with Josh. Ronnie is afraid to tell Olive what Alex did as the same thing happened to her in high school with her best friend, and she wound up being called a slut. She finally shares her secret - two days after the fact - and Ronnie and Olive break up with Campbell and Alex. Josh also breaks up with Leo, so to speak, and sends him home to his fiancée.
Due to a loophole in their prenup, Bryce's lawyers send Bryce to work for Ronnie in an attempt to gain a chunk of Veronica's Closet for him. Even though he doesn't actually do any work, Ronnie has no choice but to keep Bryce around as he's on the board of directors. Olive participates in the big sister program and brings her little sister, Elena, to work to try to convince her to be a powerful female businesswoman, but Elena is only interested in being a model. Ronnie goes crazy after Bryce turns the break room into a recreation room. She also feels like Bryce is trying to steal the rest of her friends away from her once Perry, Leo and Josh begin hanging out with Bryce. Desperate to win them back, Ronnie responds to Bryce's themed Hawaiian Day by setting up Pirate Day, but it bombs and leads her to believe the others don't find her fun. Olive tries to talk Elena into doing anything besides modeling - until Perry gives Elena a makeover, and everybody discovers firsthand how empty-headed Elena really is. Bryce does something genuinely helpful for the company when he suggests covering their costs by selling their summer leftovers in Australia. Ronnie and Olive have a falling out since Olive thinks Ronnie should take up Bryce's suggestion. Perry, Leo and Josh reassert their friendship with Ronnie by declaring Bryce a fake. Ronnie decides to accept Bryce's idea for the good of the company, which the judge finally rules falls under the prenup. Thus, Bryce can take a hike.
Unable to get a date, Ronnie tries to give away a pair of ballet tickets, because she considers it too humiliating to go out alone. Olive's advice that there's no shame in women enjoying their own company inspires Ronnie to go to the ballet by herself and write a column about her night alone for the next catalogue. Ronnie recants her acceptance of solitude after learning that Bryce will be taking his new date, Cindy Crawford, to Ronnie's charity event - which she will, yes, be attending alone. Desperate for a famous escort to rival Bryce's, Ronnie is relieved to hear Perry managed to snag Kevin Costner. What Ronnie doesn't realize until it goes to print is that her unfortunately worded article, "Romancing Yourself," makes it sound like she's the self-appointed master of masturbation. After being put through more humiliation than she ever imagined, Ronnie tries to rescue her public image. Then she tries to rescue her date after Costner's publicist cancels on the little self-pleasurer. Along the way, Ronnie accidentally reveals to Leo that Tina dated Perry before him. And Olive accidentally reveals that Tina not only dated Perry, but made out with him at the Christmas party. Leo jealously confronts the two, wanting to know why they kept it a secret from him. Tina angrily reminds Leo that she can't tell him about her other affairs, for every time she tries, he covers his ears and shouts, "I'm the man!". Leo eventually comes to terms by allowing Tina to discuss her past love life, and Ronnie goes solo to the event.
Ronnie calls a plumber, only to find out it's Nick, a lecherous guy she went to high school with and had a secret crush on. Nick uses Ronnie's recent separation to make his move on her. Just when she's about to score, Ronnie's lawyer visits with the news that the judge has thrown out the prenup. As soon as he hears that Ronnie is dating again, he warns her that his whole argument hinges on how Bryce is a womanizer, while Ronnie hasn't had sex with another man in years. Since Ronnie is a horrible liar, it doesn't bode well for her case to stand trial if she hasn't been faithful. But poor, deprived Ronnie will have to choose between finally getting a piece of Nick, or losing her case - and upwards of $600,000 - to Bryce. Perry is grossed out by his girlfriend's insistence on wearing old, torn panties, and gives her some new underwear. Upon seeing that she's still wearing the same old tattered knickers, Perry confronts her. She confesses that they're her lucky panties, and bad things happen when she's not wearing them. Perry tells the others about his crazy girlfriend's panty superstition, but Leo reminds Perry that he's got an obsession of his own - he can only get dressed if he puts his clothes on in a certain order. Ronnie eventually gives in to temptation and sleeps with Nick. Lucky for her that he's a plumber; he was so bad in bed, she basically flushed $600,000 down the toilet.
Ronnie becomes the subject of public embarrassment when a drag queen dubbing himself Moronica Chaste begins impersonating her on his cable access T.V. show. Ronnie is infuriated, but everyone else finds it hysterical. Ronnie plans to call up her lawyer and sue Moronica. Olive instead suggests meeting the guy to show him that she's a real person. Olive goes with Ronnie for support, but Ronnie's teary childhood story only serves as the subject of more on-air mockery. Olive does an about face when the Moronica Chaste Show gets a hungry special guest, Olive Loaf. During some chaotic preparation for a spring fashion show, Ronnie has more trouble when her star model cancels on her, and the replacement, Katrina, is a kleptomaniac who sticks everything around her into her purse. Moronica's drag queen fans picket Veronica's Closet after his program gets shut down by the station while the lawsuit is pending. He shows up in person and begs Ronnie to drop her suit, but she won't. Leo prepares to lower Ronnie from a giant pink bra for the show's grand finale. Ronnie finally has enough of Katrina's five-finger discounting after Katrina steals Ronnie's heirloom. While in the middle of a catfight, Katrina stomps on Ronnie's foot before storming off, leaving her without a leg to stand on - and no supermodel. Moronica saves the fashion show by assuming Ronnie's place on the big pink bra.
Ronnie's trial comes to an end when a settlement in her favor is reached, and the judge prepares the divorce papers for her and Bryce to sign. Pepper, who recently followed in Ronnie's footsteps and dumped Bryce, shows up at the office to look for another job. Ronnie throws Pepper's résumé in the trash, saying she's too much of an idiot to work there. When Perry tells her it's unfair to snub Pepper just because she's good-looking, Ronnie allows him to hire Pepper as his assistant. Perry has to eat his own words after Pepper turns out to be even more incompetent than Ronnie thought she was. At Leo's urging, Perry tries to fire Pepper, but instead ends up sleeping with her, and then realizes he can't fire her for fear he'll be sued for sexual harassment. In the middle of dividing their belongings, Bryce asks Ronnie if they can become friends after the divorce. A trip down memory lane is all it takes for Ronnie to fall under Bryce's spell again. Olive freaks out after discovering the two made out, as she knows Bryce is just trying to fool Ronnie into not signing the papers. Olive and Pat set up a Ronnie watch to prevent her from being taken for a ride, but Olive's getting held up during her shift is the perfect opportunity for Ronnie to go to bed with Bryce. Olive had nothing to worry about, though - when Bryce wakes up in the morning, he is shocked to find out Ronnie signed the papers anyway.
Following the finalization of her divorce, Ronnie celebrates her new life by inviting Olive with her to Atlantic City. Soon after, she meets Alan, a guy whom she thinks is her soul mate, and makes plans with him instead. After Olive gets upset, Ronnie cancels her date with Alan. While in Atlantic City, Ronnie and Olive get hammered. Then, when Ronnie wakes up in her apartment the next morning, she finds a strange man in her bed. After investigating, Ronnie is horrified to learn that, in her drunken stupor, she celebrated her divorce by getting remarried to a total stranger. Unlike Ronnie, Edwin, her new husband, remembers everything, and considers their marriage a match made in heaven. Ronnie is revolted by Edwin, however, and uses every means to get him to go away. He tries to persuade her to stick around, but their marriage puts a big damper on Ronnie's plans to romance Alan. Supposed soul mate Alan puts a bigger damper on those plans when he confesses to Ronnie that he only thinks of her as a rebound date. Perry gets Josh to challenge him in a basketball video game. Josh doesn't know what he's doing at first, but after Pepper teaches him, he gives Perry a taste of his own medicine by whupping his ass. Perry starts playing for money in a frantic attempt to beat Josh, but winds up losing $3200. Unable to come up with the dough, Josh makes Perry carry him around the office for a day as payment.
Ronnie holds a practice bridal shower for Tina, complete with toilet paper wedding gowns. Perry attempts to befriend his girlfriend's son, Aaron, but the lad is more interested in figure skating and operettas than sports. Seeing Aaron has far more in common with Josh, Perry asks Josh to tutor him in Aaron's interests. While in a bind, Olive is aided by an officer named Brian, who invites her on a date afterwards. Perry is excited to hear his girlfriend wants him to talk with Aaron about his newfound interest in girls - until he finds out that the girls in reference are old Hollywood starlets. Olive, meanwhile, is excited about the prospects of dating a cop - until she finds out that Brian isn't a cop, but a stripper Ronnie hired for Tina's bridal shower. After Perry flunks his lessons in the arts, Josh tells Aaron that there are people out there who don't share the same interests as they do, and Aaron should try to flatter them. So Aaron does just that, and asks Perry to take him to a hockey game. Olive contemplates breaking up with Brian, because it's uncomfortable for her to date a stripper. Ronnie, Perry, Leo and Josh go with Olive to see Brian in action at his club, where Olive decides that, stripper or not, Brian is way too hot to dump.
Ronnie returns from vacation with a stranger's suitcase. While pawing through its belongings that document one man's exciting life as a world traveler, Ronnie finds herself falling in love with him. After Tina causes Leo to miss a Jets game, she makes it up to him by surprising him with a football jersey signed by his idol, Keyshawn Johnson. Leo is as excited as a schoolboy when Tina shares the story of how she met Keyshawn - so excited, in fact, that he doesn't find it the least bit suspicious that Keyshawn is regularly inviting Tina out for coffee. David, the stranger with the suitcase, stops by Veronica's Closet to pick up his bag, and gives Ronnie exactly what she wanted - a date. After going out, Ronnie confesses to David that she read his journal. Since she's been so honest with him, David confesses something to Ronnie in return - his entire life is a sham, he's nothing more than a boring carpet salesman, everything is in the suitcase was faked, and his schtick is to fill several pieces of luggage with a lot of intriguing stuff, then leave them all at the airport in hopes that women will accidentally take his "interesting bags" home and fall in love with him ... just like Ronnie did. Ronnie demands David tell the truth from now on, and insists women will love him for who he is, but the minute David starts babbling about rugs, Ronnie begins fantasizing he's Indiana Jones. Leo freaks when Tina brings Keyshawn to the office to meet him. Josh catches Tina and Keyshawn kissing after Leo leaves...
Josh tells Perry about Tina and Keyshawn. They confront Tina, who begs them not to tell Leo as she swears it won't happen again. Ronnie celebrates the completion of the company's Memorial Day catalogue, but three months of work go down the drain when Saks Fifth Avenue beats them to the punch with a catalogue featuring the same concept. Ronnie frantically sets up an all-nighter to reshoot it with a new concept get it to the printer's the next morning in time for the holiday. After running through various ideas, Ronnie decides on "Summer," featuring a male lifeguard and a bunch of chesty babes in lingerie. On short notice, Olive finds the male, Tony Tony, for the reshoot, yet can't locate any chesty babes. Perry is able to lure six female models away from another model's party. Unfortunately, all six of them arrive stoned from "special" brownies they were enjoying at the party. When she sees that Tony Tony has become so out of shape she can't use him, Ronnie turns to Perry for backup. With one problem solved, Ronnie finds the female models all passed out and won't wake up. Against Tina's wishes, Perry and Josh confess to Leo what happened. Leo goes to see Tina, discovers she still has feelings for Keyshawn, and returns with some unpleasant news - they've called off the engagement. After the gang comforts him, Leo unknowingly provides Ronnie with a brand-new concept just when everybody's ready to throw in the towel: Perry becomes the sandman who made all the models fall asleep.
A rival underwear company, Pandora's Boxers, starts stealing all of Veronica's Closet's designs and marketing them first. Ronnie and Olive believe there's a mole in the ranks who's been leaking secrets. Ronnie becomes paranoid and snoops around the office trying to find the culprit. Perry attempts to cheer Leo up in the aftermath of his split by going with him on the honeymoon cruise Leo booked. Leo upsets Perry by spending the entire time on the cruise - which bears more than passing resemblance to a nursing home - complaining about being single and thinking about Tina. Ronnie meets with the smug head of Pandora's Boxers, who admits he's not only been swiping her ideas, but plans to expand his local chain and go national with them. Olive discusses with Ronnie how to beat him by expanding as well, but they aren't in the financial position to do so unless Ronnie sells a chunk of Veronica's Closet to a hands-off silent partner. Ronnie isn't sure if she wants to have a partner ... until she hears that Pandora's is running obnoxious ads offering trade-ins on her bras. A rich businesswoman, Millicent, is interested in becoming that silent partner, so Ronnie goes to see her to work out a deal. To welcome Millicent into the company, Josh presents her with a present gift wrapped with drawings from Ronnie's sketchbook. It's then that Ronnie learns who the mole is - Josh sent out Christmas gifts to all the competitors, including Pandora's Boxers, wrapped in Veronica's Closet's conceptual designs.
Millicent agrees to go with Josh to an Amish quilt festival after everyone else turns him down. Olive is upset that Veronica's Closet's softball team is men only. Pat allows Olive, Pepper and Virginia to sign up anyway, which pleases Olive, but not Perry. Ronnie flips her lid when Josh tells her that he and Millicent have been spending an awful lot of time together. Ronnie is left worried that Millicent could cancel their deal if her relationship with Josh doesn't work out. Josh insists he doesn't even have a relationship, and the two are just good friends. Perry is surprised when Pepper and Virginia turn out to be good players. And then there's Olive, who sucks. To compound that problem, while at the plate, Olive accidentally flings a bat at Perry. Josh discovers Millicent wants from him what Ronnie thought she wanted from him. When Josh turns Millicent down, she thinks he's - surprise, surprise - gay. To show her he isn't, Josh has sex with her four times, and is so good in the sack that he kills her. Perry lashes out at Olive after he returns from the hospital with a broken arm. Ronnie and Olive attend Millicent's funeral to try to find out if Millicent signed the papers before she kicked the bucket; after having spent enough of Millicent's money to bankrupt them, they are relieved to find out she did. The relief is temporary, though, as Millicent's meddlesome son, Hunter, inherited her portion of the company, and has wasted no time in taking over. Ronnie's silent partner is no more.
Now that he's assumed leadership of Veronica's Closet, Hunter gets to work undoing everything Ronnie had done. Alec, Hunter's stepfather, drops by to check on Hunter and winds up asking Ronnie out on a date. The date doesn't work out. Neither does Hunter who fires Olive after the pair get into an argument. Infuriated, Ronnie tries to get Alec to make Hunter sell back his half of the company. Alec meets with Hunter and delivers good news and bad news. The good: Hunter decided to sell after all. The bad: not to Ronnie, but to Alec - and Alec wants to keep it.
Sharing isn't caring as Ronnie and Alec despise having to work together while occupying the same office, and Alec's assistant moves in and takes over Josh's desk.
Ronnie and Olive hunt for a new model to put on the cover of the company catalogue. A la Calvin Klein, they come up with the idea of using an average woman so as to get female lingerie shoppers to identify more with their covers. Unfortunately, they have a bit too much to drink during the selection process and hire somebody who is - to put it mildly - a touch less than the "average woman." Josh reunites with an old friend, Scotty, who is planning to get married. Despite the fact that he's even more effeminate than Josh, Scotty swears he's straight, all the while insisting Josh should come out of the closet. Josh eventually gets Scotty to confess that he is gay, but Scotty cannot get Josh to do the same.
Alec is angry when Ronnie calls her vet during an important meeting. Ronnie takes Buddy to work and discovers that Alec was traumatized by a dog when he was a child. Olive tells Perry that his sex life reminds her of George from "Shampoo." Perry sees the film for the first time and is upset that Olive would make such a comparison. Olive tries to console Perry and winds up kissing him, something both regret later.
A tabloid photographer takes an embarrassing snapshot of Alec and Ronnie, then has it published. The guy later confronts Ronnie, springing the unpleasant news on her that Bryce has plans to marry a former Veronica's Closet supermodel. Due to the public exposure they've gotten because of this incident, Ronnie tries to sort out her mixed feelings about Alec. Perry wants to live alone again so he kicks Leo out of his apartment. Josh takes Leo in, and instead of being happy he's now alone like he wanted, Perry gets jealous.
Olive's herbal remedy causes excessive hair growth for Ronnie and herself. Alec is not thrilled that Perry is dating his ex-wife.
A complaint is filed against Veronica's Closet after a woman swears one of their sports bras made her boobies numb. Ronnie and Alec disagree over how to resolve the problem. Olive finds out an employee of the company has a secret crush on her. Ronnie thinks Olive should not go out with the guy in light of the fact that he's practically half Olive's age ... and still lives with his daddy.
During Thanksgiving dinner, Alec receives mixed signals from Ronnie. Perry and Leo bet on the outcome of a football game.
Ronnie suspects that Alec wants to quit Veronica's Closet to work elsewhere. Olive looks for ways to end her May-December relationship so she can start dating her boyfriend's father. Leo is turned off by his girlfriend's name, Peri.
Ronnie goes Christmas shopping and gives herself the gift that keeps on giving: a whole night of sex with a department store Santa. If he didn't know when she's been naughty before, he probably does now. She loses the Christmas spirit in a hurry after finding out that Jolly St. Nick is Hunter. Ronnie returns to the store to make sure Hunter doesn't breathe a word of what happened to Alec and things culminate with the two of them having sex again. Alec finds out anyway and uses the opportunity to laugh at Ronnie. Tina leaves Leo a message, but he accidentally deletes it before he can listen to it. Josh is able to secretely restore it and hears the news: Tina called to say she's marrying another man. Leo feels the time has come to let Tina go and Josh decides it's best not to let Leo know what it was she said.
Veronica's book about surviving through divorce, "When Love Goes," is published to favorable reviews. Josh's parents, who are in town for his birthday, read it and agree - they tell Josh it inspired them to get divorced. Josh hates Veronica after hearing this news and guilts her into convincing his folks that her book was a sham, she's a fraud, and they should stay together. When Ronnie meets with the constantly sparring couple and sees how much they hate each other, she goes against Josh's wishes and reaffirms that they were right to call it quits. While Perry and Leo hunt for affordable apartments, Olive tells them that her friend is giving up a great one for a budget price and they can move right in. The catch is that it's an illegal sublet so the landlord can't find out. Perry and Leo love the apartment - until they meet a quartet of mean-spirited old neighbors who blackmail the two into doing gross favors for them or else be reported to the landlord. Unable to stand rubbing senior citizens' backs and giving them sponge baths, Perry and Leo have no choice but to move out. After seeing them at each other's throat, Josh understands that his parents' divorce is for the best, and he makes up with Veronica.
Alec refuses to let Josh see "The Lion King" so Josh pushes Alec's buttons in return. Alec tells Josh he doesn't want to see his face until he apologizes; Josh threatens to quit instead. Veronica tries to smooth things over between the two, but Alec says he won't forgive Josh until he gets his apology. When Josh refuses to, Veronica makes him take a temp job as Perry's P.R. assistant. In the meantime, Ronnie does all she can to make sure Alec does not fill Josh's old position. Olive hooks up with Jimmy, an old political beau from college, but is disappointed to find out he no longer stages protests or helps fight causes anymore - and that he's basically a fraud. He attempts to convince Olive there's no point in trying to make a difference these days. To show him that there is, Olive "liberates" all the animals in a petting zoo and hides them in her apartment to spare them from cruel petting. She gets arrested and irrationally thinks that will help her cause. Josh finds Perry's job a complete joke, so Perry puts Josh on the spot and has him handle one of Perry's P.R. clients for him. Josh learns the hard way that his complete lack of tact and inability to brown-nose makes him thoroughly unsuitable for what Perry does. Weighing the options, Josh throws a B.S. apology in Alec's direction and takes his old job back.
The photographer's story (episode 27) turns out to be for real when Bryce announces he's getting remarried and invites Ronnie to his wedding. She decides to go just to start trouble. Bryce has a little trouble of his own in mind - he comes on to Ronnie. Seeing Bryce is up to his old tricks again, Ronnie pays a visit to his soon-to-be wife at her hotel room to inform the woman that the man she's planning to marry is a no-good womanizer. The bride is horrified and calls things off. Later, Ronnie discovers she went to the wrong hotel room, wrecked some other couple's wedding, and didn't stop Bryce from marrying his fiancée. Leo's pet snake eats a kitten Olive planned to give to her nephew.
Alec buys a new apartment and Veronica begs him to let her redecorate it. He reluctantly agrees, but gives her the pink slip when things don't work out and hires a swishy professional interior decorator as her replacement. Veronica is less than thrilled with the new development and takes it upon herself to get rid of the guy behind Alec's back. Josh dates an honest-to-God woman, but dreads the thought of having to have sex with her.
Ronnie hires Tim, a former boyfriend, to handle the photography for an Italian magazine that Veronica's Closet is affiliated with. Alec is ticked off when Tim - who's now an incompetent lush - single-handedly destroys the shoot and makes the company look bad. The magazine's editor, a man, flirts with Josh.
A charity banquet is held in Alec's honor. Ronnie's not happy when Alec doesn't invite her and lets him know. Against his better judgment, Alec says Ronnie can make a speech if she wants. Rather than give a speech, Ronnie does an awful impersonation of Alec, in the process embarrassing him, herself and everybody else who attended. Olive tries to hook up a recently divorced - not to mention horny - friend with Perry.
In light of the previous sexual tension between them, a smitten Veronica tries to coax Alec into going out with her, but Alec a firm believer in not mixing business with pleasure. He eventually changes his mind and tells Veronica he will take her on a spontaneous romantic getaway, only it doesn't turn out to be so spontaneous or romantic when she finds out he booked the flight three weeks in advance ... and with no particular woman in mind. Then, Chloe makes Josh meet her two blue-collar transit cop brothers for a round of drinks on St. Patrick's Day. Since Josh is less than thrilled with the prospect, he decides to play Everyday Joe in an effort to be "one of the boys." And the reception area at Veronica's Closet gets a makeover, which is good for Olive - who gets to check out all the cute painters' butts, but bad for Veronica who knocks herself unconscious after slamming head first into scaffolding while fighting with Alec.
Alec tries to get Veronica to go out to dinner with him. As she doesn't want the others to see them together, she invites Alec over to her place for a secretive dinner instead. The date turns into a disaster when Alec tries to conduct business; Veronica gets upset, and Alec storms out. Perry and Leo find out that the two are going out and let Olive in on the news. Josh is shocked to receive a BMW as a two-month anniversary present from Chloe - and even more shocked to find out that she can afford it because she's rich. Josh is mad at Chloe for keeping this secret from him all this time. Chloe feels bad and says they both should make a list of the top five things they haven't told each other, and then share what's on them. One of Chloe's things frightens Josh enough that he changes his tune and agrees that some secrets are better left that way. The day after their date, Alec is apologetic about ruining Ronnie's dinner so he invites her to see "La Boheme" with him. She willingly accepts, but they continue to fight. Perry, Leo and Olive gossip to Josh about what an awful couple Alec and Ronnie are, unaware that Alec and Ronnie are listening. When it finally dawns on the former lovebirds that they are an awful couple, they agree to call things off.
Ronnie's hears that her hometown in Kansas is naming a boulevard after her, and arranges to fly out there to give a speech in her honor. She tells everyone else about her bad reputation while growing up and explains why most of the town hated her. When Ronnie arrives in Kansas, she sees they still do. Olive gets it off her chest that she was the one who bought the boulevard and named it after Ronnie to make her feel better. Ronnie feels better all right - so much so that she rips down her own street sign. Despite the fact that the entire boulevard is a trash dump, police arrest Leo for the "crime" of vandalism, figuring he's the only black man there so he must have been the one who did it.
Perry becomes frantic upon hearing that Nicole, his hairdresser, no longer works at the salon he used to go to. Josh recommends Perry just use his hairdresser instead. Perry reluctantly does, but delusionally believes that Josh's guy botched him. Veronica is annoyed with Alec for failing to call her while he was on vacation in Japan. When he returns, Ronnie cancels their date to attend a charity ball together, claiming that she made arrangements with somebody better. Alec sees her story for the crock it is and says he plans to go stag, just in case Veronica gets "stood up" and needs a backup. Alec follows through and is mortified to see Ronnie at the ball with a real date, Justin. Ronnie manipulates her handsome escort to make Alec jealous, but Alec thinks that's all it is - a charade to make him jealous. With a little detective work, Leo is able to track down Nicole's home address. Perry rushes right over to her place to have her cut his hair for him, but begins to have second thoughts when she violently confesses to him why she left the salon - she was fired for being looney-toons. Josh convinces Alec that Ronnie and Justin actually are in love with each other. The realization eventually takes its toll, and Alec leaves. With Alec gone, Veronica comes clean with Justin about the real reason she invited him. Even though she lied, Justin is attracted to Ronnie anyway. Alec apparently has a change of heart and returns to the ball, only to catch Veronica and Justin making out.
Justin knows the producers of "Cabaret" and can get Veronica all the free tickets she wants. Josh begs Ronnie for a pair so he can take Chloe, and she eventually relents. Alec jealously plans to break Ronnie and Justin up by asking Justin to see him on the same night he was supposed to take her to "Cabaret." Justin chooses Alec over Ronnie and tells her to take someone else and go without him. Justin is understandably confused when he finds out why Alec wanted to see him: to offer him his half of Veronica's Closet. Alec comes clean and lets Justin know his only reason for doing this is to make Justin miserable and working with the woman you love day in and day out is sure to do that. Veronica gives Justin's ticket to Olive, but Olive's enthusiasm for the musical diminishes after she recognizes a man performing on stage as an old boyfriend who ran out on her without saying goodbye. While gossiping about the guy, Ronnie and Olive annoy Josh so he makes a bogus report that they stole items from the theater's concession stand and an usher throws them out. Olive intends to tell off her ex when he leaves the theater, but is unable to say the words when the time comes. Ronnie becomes furious when she finds out Alec offered his half of the company to Justin. After being confronted, Alec pretends that the incident never happened and Justin is a liar. As it turns out, he is so convincing that Ronnie believes this.
Ronnie agrees to a romantic weekend with Justin. Alec counters this news with some of his own - he's moving to Japan for good. Chloe misunderstands Josh's marriage proposal.
Veronica blames herself after reading about Alec's tragic death while on vacation (a vacation she was supposed to take with him, but didn't because the two couldn't get along.) Could Alec have loved Ronnie? Would an unrealized romance between Alec and Ronnie have worked out? Did Alec throw himself into a volcano because he couldn't have the only woman he ever loved? And why is that blonde bimbo at Alec's funeral claiming to be Mrs. Alec Bilson? What could be more shocking but the news that Josh is marrying short-time girlfriend Chloe? Isn't Josh gay? Could this mean that Chloe is a beard? Or a lesbian? Or maybe Chloe is straight and Olive is the lesbian? And just who is Veronica's new boss?! For the answers to these questions and more, tune in next week...
June's inheritance of 51% of Veronica's Closet upsets Veronica, who wants everybody to be especially mean to June in hopes that she'll quit and leave Ronnie with full ownership of the company again. Perry and Leo have no problems obliging, but Olive ends up taking a liking to the naive, young boss and begs Ronnie to allow June a say in running the business, which entails giving the green-light to June's proposed suggestion box. Meanwhile, Josh is forced to go golfing with Chloe's father and her two brothers so he can fulfill their time-honored family tradition of asking dad for his daughter's hand in marriage. Only it's dad who ends up with the hand as Josh once again goes a bit too far trying to fit in.
June gets Veronica's Closet a complete makeover, convincing Veronica that she's losing her influence on the company. Not all bad comes out of it, apparently, as Ronnie begins dating Tom, the handsome foreman assigned to the renovations. The honeymoon almost ends prematurely when she finds out that Tom has a daughter, who just happens to be June, but second thoughts make Veronica wonder if dating daddy might be the perfect way to wreck a certain someone's life. Guess who. Dead set against having to resort to using the ladies' bathroom while the men's' is closed down, Perry devises ways so his female co-workers won't know what business he's accomplished in the toilet. It's all for nothing, though, as his white-top loafers make him a dead giveaway on the throne. In the midst of Perry's potty dilemma, Leo comes up with his own plan -- borrowing Perry's shoes to visit the pink porcelain bus. Leo's shoe scheme soon becomes a big hit at the office as everyone and his mother wants to wear them to powder their nose, thus giving the impression that Perry may be having certain... problems. Getting away from all this bodily turmoil, Olive volunteers at the Braille Institute reading to the blind, but her 15-year-old patient would like to hear something a little raunchier than the classics.
June unveils the remodeled Veronica's Closet and proudly shows off everything - except her office. June's secrecy leads Veronica to believe June has given herself a better office than she gave Veronica. But when June says Ronnie is welcome to choose whichever of the two offices she wants, Ronnie can't make up her mind. Perry's friendship with Leo is in jeopardy when he shows everybody an embarrassing video of Leo's against his wishes. Josh has trouble coping with his new desk, which is high enough to be a lifeguard's chair.
When Veronica's unpersonable birthday gift to Olive doesn't go over very big, Veronica promises Olive that she bought her a second, thoughtful gift as well. She didn't, so she sends Josh out to get something last minute, but he comes home with cat supplies. When Olive sees them, Veronica lies again and tells Olive she bought herself a cat and the kitty stuff is for her. Of course, now Ronnie needs to get two things: that second, personable gift ... and a cat. June shows Josh naked photos of herself, but won't let Perry and Leo see them unless they both promise to show her their naked photos first.
June arranges a 10K charity walkathon for needy children to be sponsored by Veronica's Closet. The prospect of the media being there makes Veronica suddenly want to "help the children" by taking part in it, though her plan backfires when she's caught on national television taking a taxi to the finish line. Veronica blames this on her shoes, but June doesn't buy it and thinks Veronica was just too old to walk. To show her, Veronica accepts June's dare to double the stakes - by walking 20K. As a joke, Perry and Leo write a sheet filled with $10,000 of faked celebrity pledges, which poses a problem when Olive discovers it and takes it for real. Josh lets Chloe stay at his place after a pipe bursts in her apartment and has second thoughts when he finds out Chloe likes to help herself to his wardrobe.
The gang doesn't have much to be thankful for as each and every one of their Thanksgivings is ruined. Josh would rather have dinner alone with Chloe, but instead has to cater to her two immature brothers whom she took the liberty of inviting. They're not the only unwelcome guests as June invites herself to Veronica's against Ronnie's wishes. Leo, the only other guest of Veronica's who doesn't cancel out on her at the last minute, is stuck spending his holiday watching Veronica and June engaged in a hair-pulling, furniture-throwing catfight. Olive tries to help Perry get over his traumatic childhood fear of Thanksgiving parades by making him watch this year's with her out on her balcony. His phobia probably isn't cured when a gigantic King Kong float goes astray and traps Perry against the wall of Olive's building.
The gang's airline flight to a Miami trade show is depicted in two very different scenarios: what could have happened, and what did happen. In reality, June spills coffee on Veronica's blouse causing everybody to miss their flight and have to book a later one when Veronica takes too long to change. Suffering in coach, Ronnie gets stuck sitting next to June while intermittently being stalked by a loon who confesses to once stealing her panties; Josh must endure harassment from a very bitter Pete Rose; Perry struggles to get his taxes done in time but has no one to help; and Leo is bullied by a big, mean stewardess. In fantasy, June doesn't spill coffee on Veronica's blouse, they make their intended flight on time, snag seats in first class, and get to spend the trip with their dreams come true - Veronica with her high school crush who needs someone to help change his mind about his vow of celibacy; Josh with his idol, ice skater Tara Lipinski; Perry with a mathematical savant who has a knack for doing taxes; and Leo with the gorgeous stewardess who turns out to be an old flame wishing to rekindle.
As if it isn't news enough to find out that June has booked Isaac Hayes to perform at her big New Year's Eve bash, Mr. Hayes entertains Veronica's wish to sing a duet together. Ronnie begs Josh to play piano for the song, which she wrote for her and Isaac years ago in hopes of such an occasion, but its double entendre-ridden lyrics about a beef patty's special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun nearly scare Josh away. Perry worries that he can't finish all his 1999 New Year's resolutions in time, one of which is mastery of his 2-iron swing. Tiger Woods he's not, though his handicap at golf proves successful on one level when he scores a hole in one with Veronica's head. Doctor's orders are not heeded when Veronica is determined to sing her tune, concussion and frightening-looking head brace contraption clamped onto her skull and all. Leo has a problem with his girlfriend Lana's excessive public affection and asks her to save it for the bedroom. Leo's girlfriend has a problem with Leo's asking her to cut back on her excessive public affection and tells him he can spend New Year's by himself. In order to win her back, Leo decides to do the romantic serenade-like thing -- shave "I (Heart) LANA" into the back of his head. Unfortunately, he shaved it courtesy a mirror and Lana isn't a palindrome.
Veronica has a crush on Enrico, an actor friend of Josh's. When she finds out the two of them are taking a yoga class together, Veronica suddenly develops an interest in yoga and decides to tag along in an effort to see him again. A magazine wants to do an interview with Veronica's Closet as one of the top companies run by women, so Veronica arranges a party at her place to entertain the reporter and staff. June is excited about the event, but Veronica wants her to stay away and not embarrass the company by showing the interviewer that the president is inept. Veronica's skepticism rubs off on June, who asks Perry and Leo to help her learn about the business when she fears she is in fact too dumb to handle the interview. Josh is humiliated when Veronica acts up in class after someone anonymously cuts the cheese during stretches. At least Josh gets to have the last laugh after he finds out it was not only Enrico who had the flatulence problem, but that thunder struck twice on his date with Veronica, so much for perfection. Olive arranges a blind date with a guy who answers the phone at Veronica's Closet's office supply company. He turns out to be a midget - and a loud, obnoxious one at that - but when the first date leads to a second, Olive is afraid to call things off with him for fear of it looking like she's breaking up with him for being 3 feet tall.
Veronica is bumped from the Guinness Book of World Records after somebody beats her childhood one for the World's Longest Paper Airplane Flight. Desperate to be the best at something, Ronnie tries to reclaim the record, only to discover she can no longer throw paper planes as far as she previously could. Perry doesn't want to visit his senile grandfather in a nursing home since he doesn't recognize Perry anymore. After Leo tells Perry he should go anyway because it's family, Perry makes Leo go with him. His grandfather still doesn't know Perry from Adam, but he does remember Leo - as his long-dead wife who's "come back to him." A noise-sensitive guy moves into the apartment below Josh and Chloe and makes sure to let the two know how much he hates noise by banging loudly on the ceiling and yelling at the top of his lungs to keep it down. Josh is atypically spineless; Chloe deliberately stomps on the floor to tick their new neighbor off. After she's irritated the situation as much as possible, Chloe forces Josh to confront the man. Perry resorts to drastic measures to let his grandfather remember him ... he wears his childhood ducky hat and breaks into a round of "The Quack Quack Song" that his grandpa sang to him as a kid. The equal and opposite reaction: Gramps instantly recognizes Perry but no longer "knows" who Leo is. Josh is relieved to find out the angry neighbor is a virtual clone of himself - right down to a girlfriend who tells him what to do - and they get even with the bossy females by faking a violent confrontation. As Veronica unsuccessfully looks for new records to break, June convinces Ronnie that she is funny and should impress Guinness with her sense of humor. Ronnie comes up with the not-so-bright idea to tell the most jokes in record time. She almost accomplishes this one, but blows it in the final minute when the judge rejects what would have been the record-breaking joke (one of Veronica's own painfully-unfunny creations) as a pun. Furious at the judge that she has to wait another year to try out again, Ronnie flings a stream of curse words at him. This gets her into the Guinness Book ... as the World's Most Vulgar Woman.
Veronica's muscular romantic interest, Mark, seems to be perfect in every way. This makes Josh wonder what's really wrong with this one since something's wrong with every man Veronica has ever dated. Nothing ... except the fact that he was previously involved with Olive. Once Ronnie finds that little tidbit out, she wants to wash her hands of the guy (whom she now considers tainted) but Olive convinces her there's nothing left between them and Ronnie shouldn't feel uncomfortable sharing something she previously did the lowdown and dirty with. Veronica takes Olive's advice to heart and tries to make out with Mark but something kills the mood -- a gigantic tattoo of Olive's face on his chest. Perry and Leo become the targets of a pair of practical jokes from payroll and need Josh to help them out in the comeback department. Josh needs some help of his own after June buys a pony to cheer herself up and uses Veronica's Closet as a temporary stable. As it turns out, Josh has a phobia of the furry four-legged creatures stemming from a traumatic childhood experience riding one.
Veronica can't shake an obsessive, deranged blind date whose romantic gifts include chocolate roses, raw meat and dirty videos of himself. A rival lingerie company comes up with a Valentine's Day gimmick of musical panties that play "My Funny Valentine" when you stretch them. Leo suggests to Ronnie that Veronica's Closet should outdo this by putting out candy panties with a heart-shaped surprise in the middle that's "a little snackage for your package." Josh suffers anxiety attacks when Chloe springs the news on him that her father is entering the witness protection program and their marriage will have to take place within two months. Veronica finds a nest with a pigeon's egg outside her window ledge and brings it inside. Olive flips out when she sees Ronnie touching an unhatched egg and makes herself surrogate mother to save the bird from abandonment. A story on the Internet gives Olive the idea to incubate it in a strange place - between her boobies. The candy panties don't turn out so sweet when their little heart-shaped surprises (made of chocolate and conveniently placed in the panties' backseat pouches) had to ride over in a very hot delivery truck, melting them and making it look like someone ... well, you know. Olive has to go to an important meeting and gets June to breast-sit for her, but a fowl version of the Baby M story results after June goes into labor, hatches the young pigeon herself and wants to keep it. In an effort to stop Josh from having a nervous breakdown, Chloe hires Kevin, a crackerjack wedding coordinator, to take some of the weight off. Perry acts as mediator in the bitter bird custody battle and Leo saves face with Veronica and redeems the company when he comes up with a new Valentine's Day novelty: the break-up panty.
Veronica bumps into Tom again, realizes she regrets dumping him and wants to rekindle old flames. Tom finds out Ronnie is in the market for new bookshelves so, rather than have her buy them from a catalogue, asks if he could build her a set. Veronica doesn't need to think too hard about that one. Perry talks Leo into going half on an expensive DVD player for Josh and Chloe's wedding present; that way, Leo can finally be the one who gives the cool gift. Josh and Chloe are eaten up with jealousy when they hear Kevin is coordinating other weddings besides theirs. Later, they are eaten up with disgust upon opening Perry and Leo's gift - a used dictionary wrapped up in a DVD player box. Josh's and Chloe's obsession with Kevin becomes a bit too scary, culminating in Kevin washing his hands of the two of them. Josh confronts Perry and Leo about their insulting gift, letting Leo put two and two together that Perry (who bought it off a less-than-reliable street dealer) pulled a $600 boner. While Josh and Chloe try to win Kevin back and Perry tries to get Leo to forgive him, Tom works day and night at Veronica's apartment providing her with ample opportunities to get him into the sack. Ronnie then wants to give Tom the sack when he presents her with a bill. For $10,000 a confrontation arises and the two on-again, off-again, on-again lovebirds agree on a compromise; she can pay him whatever she wants to. Olive advises Veronica that Tom billed her not for what the shelves are worth but for what his sexual services are worth, leaving Ronnie wondering whether Tom was $10,000 good in bed or not.
Ronnie freaks out after Tom invites her to dinner at his place as she doesn't think she's ready for that step. (Why not? She was ready for it with Alec - and what a great couple they were...) Perry burns down the kitchen in his and Leo's apartment, leaving them in need of somewhere to stay. June mentions she has one vacancy available. Perry beats Leo to the offer and believes this is his chance to get her into bed. Ah, Perry - always Mr. Gracious. Chloe is out of town so Josh lets Leo shack up with him for the time being. Leo seeks to be Josh's best man after his first choice bails, but Perry doesn't feel Leo is that good a friend to Josh. Good friends should, after all, push each other out of the way so they can be the one to snag the first apartment offer that comes along and stuff. Brian pays Josh an untimely visit, at least for Leo, as it happens smack in the middle of his subtle attempt to sway Josh into asking him to be best man. Apparently, it was too subtle; Josh thinks Leo suggested he ask Brian and Josh plans to do just that. Ronnie discovers Tom's apartment isn't so much an apartment as a college frat house. Strike 1. And he has a Harley Davidson look-a-like roomie called, appropriately, Spaz. Strike 2. Perry isn't any happier to meet June's roommate, Roger, since the two are sleeping together and that puts a bit of a damper on Perry's plans to sleep with her. Leo learns at dinner that he really doesn't know Josh better than Brian does, so he graciously forfeits the race. Ronnie and Olive go to Tom's rowdy beer keg party where only Olive enjoys herself. June and Roger have a falling out after he convinces himself she's riding the hobbyhorse with Perry. Perry starts to use the opportunity to be the rebound guy with June, but her crying brings out some actual sensitivity - or something - in him. Ronnie's freaking out concludes when Tom shares all the other unromantic, juvenile dates he has in store for her if they remain a couple. Strike 3. Tom's out!
Brian arranges Josh's bachelor party and invites his conservative college glee club buddies, The A Cappella Fellas. Chloe asks Perry and Leo to sex things up a little, so they hire a female stripper to go with the singing. Ronnie and Olive attempt to entertain Chloe with a bachelorette party of her own, but Chloe is not enthused with their choice of male stripper (otherwise known as the pizza guy). That's until she gets buzzed on one beer and drags the girls along for a wild night on the town. The already wild Pete and Chris crash Josh's party. The female stripper, Stacy, shows up next, only to recognize Perry and remind him that he used to baby-sit her when she was little. Suddenly, Perry isn't much in the mood for that XXX striptease he paid for. Chloe ends up so hammered she makes a scene of herself at a bar, then quietly disappears with Ronnie and Olive left to worry what Josh will think when he finds out they lost his fiancée. Josh is disappointed that nothing was as he'd hoped it would be and Brian consoles him. Pete and Chris cuff Perry so the strip show can go on. Chloe, looking quite the mess, finds her way back to Ronnie's apartment. Leo catches Josh and Brian sharing an unexpectedly intimate moment...
Leo confides to Perry what he saw. Perry wants Leo to let it go. Josh, still confused about what happened, nervously insists to Brian that he isn't gay. Brian declares he isn't either - because he has a girlfriend. Never mind that he kisses other men all the time. And takes baths with them. June, who recently broke up with Roger, makes Perry a very happy man by asking him to accompany her to Josh's and Chloe's wedding. A hurricane hits the city and Josh's parents can't make the flight to New York to be there. Ronnie gets choked up when Josh asks her to fill in as his surrogate mother. With June on the rebound, Perry schemes to make his move on her by pretending to be a sensitive guy in search of a long-term relationship. Leo is unsuccessful in trying to put a stop to the wedding. June crushes Perry's dreams of bagging the hot blonde when she tells him she's just looking for a casual fling and he's so committed that she'd only break his heart. Ronnie flips out after Leo lets her in on the secret between Josh and Brian. She, in turn, confronts Josh in a last-ditch effort to convince him that he is as gay as the day is long and should call things off. At the last minute, God sends a sign, Ronnie's speech sinks in, and Josh has an awakening causing him to blurt out two words other than "I do."
Chloe bids adieu to Josh. Against his will, Ronnie and Olive compete to set Josh up with their available gay friends. Perry and Leo send out an inter-office memo to the rest of the company stating that Josh came out. Josh has enough of everybody's prying and goes straight again. Perry and Leo send out an even more humiliating retraction memo trying to fix things. Sparks fly when Ronnie and Olive play matchmakers, just not between Josh and either of his two dates. Brian seeks sympathy from Josh when his "girlfriend" breaks up with him, and Josh helps Brian work out a coy way of following him out of the closet. With somebody to make him feel comfortable now, Josh proudly reaffirms to the gang what he said at his wedding.
In this flashback clip show episode, Olive contemplates quitting Veronica's Closet to become business partners with Neil, the owner of an Internet apparel company. Olive's announcement angers Ronnie to the point where she tries to bully Olive into staying. In the process, Ronnie manages to make Olive's decision for her - she quits. Also, Josh takes delight in sharing with Perry and Leo the tawdry details of his new homosexual lifestyle after he and Brian return from their trip to the Bahamas.
Ronnie's and Olive's feud continues when Olive returns to clear out her stuff. Olive discovers Neil exaggerated about his business; it's actually located in his parents' restaurant. Ronnie screens replacements for Olive, and subconsciously fills the position with an Olive lookalike, Olivia. Josh tries to get Ronnie to make up with Olive. Ronnie treats Olivia as if she were Olive, and Olivia gets so freaked out by Ronnie's drinking buddy manner with her that she quits too. Disappointed with her new job, Olive soon realizes she wants to return to Veronica's Closet. Josh meets with Olive for lunch and relays this news to Ronnie, who's busy looking for yet another C.F.O. replacement. Just when Ronnie and Olive are ready to work out a deal where Olive would quit working for Neil and return to work for Ronnie in exchange for a part of the company, Neil announces that they've been bought out by a conglomerate - to the tune of 20 million dollars for each of them. So Olive quits Veronica's Closet a second time. Meanwhile, after Leo accidentally telephones Naomi Campbell but doesn't remember what number he dialed, he keeps her on redial in hopes of hooking up.
Veronica invites Perry over to tell her about his sex life in hopes that this will give her inspiration for her third book. After they've had one too many, they fall into bed together. Later, Perry tells all to Leo but refuses to reveal the identity of his new lover. Leo guesses that its June. Ronnie thinks that Perry is sleeping with June from rumors that she's hearing. Perry goes to her to explain, and they end up sleeping together again. Josh tries to impress Brian by learning to play basketball but only succeeds embarrassing Brian front of his friends.
Ronnie and Perry encounter trouble in their new relationship and break up. Later, Perry confesses that he did not really want to break up with Ronnie, and they get back together. Brian and Josh move in together. Olive persuades June to sell her half of the company, and now Olive and Ronnie are partners.
