Riley learns that men are quite like dogs.Meanwhie Macy tries getting a super-duper dress made for Teddi to attend the Billboard awards and can't say she needs Jake's help when she does.
Riley and Chloe are allowed to take boys to the annual Save The Seals dance this year. Not only do the girls need a clever way to find dates, but so does their mom Macy. Chloe decides to write a column to attract Travis, her dream date, in the school newspaper. Tensions are high as the Carlson's take a dive into the dating pool!
Larry takes Chloe and Riley to a concert using the money they all collected for a school fund drive, anticipating that he'll have the money to replace it when his grandmother sends him a check for his birthday. Unfortunately, Grandma gives him a "donation to charity" gift instead, causing the kids to scramble for ways to come up with quick cash before Mrs. Westmore finds out. After a series of afterschool jobs fail miserably, Riley hits upon the idea of deligating work by being your own boss, like Macy, and she and Chloe start a temp agency for the other teens in school. Just as they think they've gotten away with returning the money undetected, Mrs. Westmore announces she knew all along what they did.
Larry gets his friend, Tony, to persuade Riley that he's a great catch. But it backfires when Tony tries to woo her himself. This is all put on hold when the Carlson's home is threatened by a fire. Macy becomes jealous when Tedi helps to rescue Grant from the trailer.
When Riley, gets approached by a Gothic Girl for her notes, because if she doesn't pass this history test, her mother would ground her and she can't go to the party. The girl promises Riley and Chloe to have them over for a party, here at school. Chloe has an outburst, saying that Riley can tutor her, too. Riley and Chloe doesn't know how to handle is situation, so when the girl comes over they dress Gothic. They tutor her, and she pass with a B+. She tells them that the party will be at Midnight. Riley and Chloe are pretty nervous about how to attend the party, so they have a plan to leave late, because that what cool kids do. But the truth is that they are scared, and doesn't want to go. So they fall asleep on the bed. Thinking that they are at the party, Larry wants to take them both out. He tries to sneak in but they kick him out. He then sneaks in as Britney Spears, and asks the girl where was Chloe and Riley. He then says that they never showed up. Larry then gets hit on a guy, thinking that he is a girl. In the morning, Chloe and Riley blames each other for not going to the party. They are then greeted by Larry in the whole Britney Spears costume, and he tells them to hide him.
Macy wants to meet an old high school flame when Jake decides to read her private e-mail. Chloe, Riley and Larry have to perform community services.
The twins ask Tedi and Manuelo to stand in for their parents for Career Day at school. Back at home, Macy bickers about Grant being in the family photo and Manuelo quits when he finds out he won't be included.
The Carlson family looks all over Malibu in search of Manuelo. By accident, Larry spots him but is quickly blackmailed to keep quiet about his whereabouts.
Chloe and Riley sign up for elective courses in cooking and sewing, then find they are sorely lacking in skills to do the work. Chloe "borrows" some of Manuelo's recipes for her cooking assignments, while Larry, who discovers he has a natural talent for fashion design, covers for Riley and lets her be graded for his project. Unfortunately, the whole thing blows up in their faces when Jake and Macy try to impress a magazine reporter by having the girls show off their "talent."
Tedi decides to quit modeling over a craving for onion rings. As a debate partner for a school project on capital punishment, Chloe pairs off with a boy she admires. This makes Riley really angry at her and she pairs off with Larry, who usually gets the giggles every time.
Mrs. Westmore, the girl's homeroom teacher, takes out her anger over breaking up with her lastest boyfriend out on her students and assigns them to compose a term paper about The Canterbury Tales. Chloe just finishes the project when Macy announces she needs to complete her tax forms using the computer tax program. Before she can even start, Larry comes over and in trying to help ease Macy's tension, gives her a neck brace containing a magnet in it, which erases the computer's hard drive. Larry's father, in an effort to apologize, offers to do Macy's taxes for her since he's an accountant. She suggests repaying him for his help by cooking dinner, but just as Larry has an unrequited crush on Riley, his father starts pursuing Macy relentlessly. Jake meets Mrs. Westmore drowning her sorrows at Neptune's Net, and a discussion over the girl's writing assignment evolves into a date. While Riley is horrified that her father is dating the teacher, Chloe uses it to her advantage, as Mrs. Westmore has suddenly turned into a pussycat and Chloe's getting special treatment.
When some seniors advise the girls to look into college entrance information early, Chloe and Riley discover that they're interested in different schools and decide to try a "trial separation" to see how it would be like living apart from one another. Larry winds up being the go between for the girls, helping them to decide what to wear after they come to school in the same outfit; unfortunately, he loses it after a long cram session that requires him to keep running back and forth from Jake's trailer and Macy's house to study with both girls. Macy and Jake, growing tired of finding other people to date, decide to start over and have "first dates" as if they never met before as a method of rekindling the sparks.
It's Chloe turn to get pretend sick, but appears sick when Larry accidently sneezes on her. Macy has a deadline, that involves Teddie and her going to Iceland. Teddie, being paranoid, uses any method to avoid being sick from the girls. Shortly after, Riley gets sick, and it spreads through out the home. When it's time to leave for Macy and Teddie's trip, they are forced to return home when Teddie gets sick. Jake, being forced to take care of the girls, Macy, Teddie, and now Manuelo, gets paranoid, and he always thought if you eat an apple, it will avoid you getting sick. Shortly after being exposed to everyone's sickness, he gets sick. Still under deadline, Macy and Teddie does a photo shoot within her home, with Larry's old decorations that was given to them. The girls are 100% better, and is takes care of the four sick grownups.

Chloe gets her nose out of joint when a new student, Lennox, keeps disrupting her daily routine by stealing her "morning blueberry muffin", her favorite seat at the coffeehouse, and even the lifeguard station, then teases her for being so predictable and anal retentive. Larry is upset that Riley forgot his birthday because he likes to open up her gift before anybody else's; Riley tries to make it up to him by arranging a date with her actress friend Marnie, who has a crush on Larry. Larry, however, is too obsessed with Riley to even notice Marnie, so they both get angry at Riley. Manuelo notices that even though Jake and Macy have begun to start dating other people, neither one of them realizes that their respective dates look like them-- Jake's date is a workaholic just like Macy, while Macy sees a burnt-out beach bum who resembles Jake. I made a mistake the first time I wrote this-- Riley's friend's name is Cammie, not Marnie.
develops a crick in her neck from too much stress, so Larry suggests she get a massage from Willow, a woman who's set up a massage booth at the coffee shop. Soon Riley is addicted to having daily massages costing $60, and tries selling everything she owns to pay her bills. Jake and Macy fear their daughter's sneaky behavior is connected to drug use; Macy confronts Willow about Riley's bill, only to get drawn in herself by the offer of a free massage. Chloe, meanwhile, keeps trying to get the nerve to ask Lennon out on a date, but each time she attempts to talk to him, a noise nearby drowns out her conversation.
Riley must deal with unsavoury rumours being spread about her by a previous date and a young musician she is absolutely smitten over. Chloe tries every trick in the book to land Lennon as a boyfriend and fails, until she throws the book away.
From the Ytv Website- When Todd, a wheelchair bound student, sees Riley riding a wheelchair through the school's hallways he thinks she is handicapped as well. Riley conceals the truth because she likes Todd and must deal with the guilt over her lie.
Chloe and Riley get jobs as waitresses at the Newsstand. But when they get to their customers, they realize that becoming a waitress is not the kind of job they wanted. Back at home, Macy and Jake meet a couple who are trying to rekindle their relationship.
Chloe gets a driving lesson from Jake and Riley gets hers from Macy. Then they both get another lesson from a driving instructor. But when it is all said and done, Chloe is the driver and they get a flat tire but the instructor gets a phone call and has to go away. Chloe and Riley meet a boy who notices them having car trouble and takes off with the car. When the instructor comes back he is disappointed to see that the car is missing.
When Chloe "adopts" a new grandmother, Riley tries to as well. The only problem is that she keeps killing off her potential grandparents.
When Chloe and Riley team up with Larry for a school project, he ruins their first attempt and then tries to redeem himself by constructing a state-of-the-art weather station.
Riley and Chloe decide to create their own rock band and enter a "battle of the bands" contest at school. However, the only musicians they are able to recruit are Larry and Randy, the school nerd.
When the cable TV appears to have broken down, Macy suggests that the family pass the time telling stories until the reception returns. The girls discuss their failed relationships with boys, such as Chloe's attemps to get Travis Morgan to notice her, and Riley's efforts to make Larry go away. Chloe gets Manuelo to talk about his favorite memories by asking if he can say anything besides his trademark line, "I don't hate it." As Jake and Macy reminince about their latest mishaps, Tedi comes over and mentions that her TV is working, and she lives only two blocks away. Macy realizes Manuelo forgot to pay the cable bill.
Riley, Chloe & Larry decide to stage a play, Diva 2K, to raise money for an animal shelter for retired animal actors. They reluctantly hire Jake and Macy as co-directors when the girls see their parents can't act, but don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. In order to get financial support, Riley creates an imaginary producer, Marvin Dobbs, thinking that nobody would back a show produced by kids. Manuelo gets into trouble after Mel Gibson supposedly shows interest in coming to the play, so Manuelo haunts the film studio begging to see Mr. Gibson to find out how many tickets the actor needs.
