The scene starts with Tru in her bed. Mark comes out and congratulates her on being an ethics violation the day before and now being a faculty girlfriend; he wants them to go public. Tru isn't sure they should. We learn that Mark was once married to the University's Dean. Tru gets a phone call from her brother who's been gambling and is in need of money. Tru won't help him. Mark offers Tru to move in with him and she agrees. Tru arrives at the hospital for her intership and learns she they won't take her.

Putting Out Fires

When the corpse of a handsome young man asks for Tru's help, she quickly learns he's a determined firefighter killed trying to save two children trapped in an apartment building fire. As Tru tries to change the man's fate, the day gets even more complicated when she develops feelings for him.

S01E03

Brother's Keeper

The episode deals with Harrison and a woman he is seeing, Sarah. Sarah is married a man named Andrew, but doesn't mention this to Harrison in the beginning. Tru learns about this connection when Andrew turns up in the morgue. The story hinges on two sides of the same story. Sarah says that she hid the fact that she was married, because she was divorcing Andrew for abusing her. Andrew tells Tru that he never touched her, and he doesn't want to divorce Sarah because she's after his money. Tru and Harrison are caught in the middle, and things might not go well when Harrison offers to get Sarah a gun for her own protection.

When five bodies arrive in the morgue and ask for her help, Tru's mission is five times more difficult. After learning that the victims died at a bachelor party, Tru poses as a bartender to gain access. As she tries to systematically determine if one of them is the killer, her curiosity raises their suspicions, putting her in jeopardy.

When the body of a young medical student comes into the morgue, Tru must pose as a fellow student in order to stop what looks like a simple drug overdose. While trying to save this latest victim, Tru gets a glimpse of the life that she's always wanted but that her own powers may prevent her from ever having.

Star Crossed

Adam and Jen are two 17-year-old students who tragically die in a car accident. Tru, saying her family is thinking of moving and needs to find a school, goes to the teens' private high school to meet with them. She meets Adam and, to her surprise, his girlfriend Amy (she thought Jen was the girlfriend). As they head to the cafeteria, Tru sees Jen, she is working at the cash register. Jen and Adam seem to avoid looking at each other. Tru learns that Jen is a student on a scholarship and rich kids like him don't associate with girls like her. Luc appears in the episode. Tru gets information on Jen's whereabouts. She finds her on an industrial tower... but Jen is not alone... she is with Amy and they are kissing. Adam also witnesses the scene and is not happy about it. Fearful of what everyone will say now, Amy and Jen decide to leave town in a half hour. Adam shows up at Jen's claiming he's here to pick her up. Tru arrives at Jen's house only to learn from Derek, Jen's brother, that she just left with Adam. Tru and Derek go after the teens. Adam is driving fast and furiously as he asks Jen about her relationship with his girlfriend. Derek is also driving fast showing how pissed he is. Adam parks the car where the death scene is supposed to occur. Minutes after, Derek's car rams into Adam's car. Lindsay gives a portfolio to a man named Gregory.

Morning After

It's Tru's first time off of work since she started at the morgue and so she's celebrating with a big party. She then receives a phone call from her ex whom she tries to ignore, but then he ends up showing up at her party. After the party, Tru goes to bed, but she wakes up at 3 in the morning and finds the dead body of her ex laying by her bed. She calls 911, but he asks for her help and the day restarts. Now, Tru has to figure out just how to solve this case and save him, but her only suspect starting out is herself.

When a young war hero is accidentally shot to death trying to leave a military hospital, Tru inadvertently aids his escape when she relives the day. She quickly learns that he has complications from a battle injury that could be fatal if not treated immediately. As she races to get the soldier the medical help he needs, she discovers he has a mission of his own: to find the girl he left behind and share what may be their final goodbye.

After a bride is shot to death on her wedding day, her devastated groom begs Tru for a moment alone in the morgue to pay his last respects. But that moment of grief turns deadly when Tru and Davis catch him tampering with the body. The groom pulls out a gun and shoots Davis. When the day repeats, Tru must now save both the bride and Davis. Her mission becomes more difficult when she learns the groom is not all he seems to be.

Tru goes to her fifth year high school reunion and tries to stop a murder of one of her old friends, Candice. She tries to find out who would want to kill her. Harrison also attends the reunion, but only so he can finish a fight against Keith Morgan.

The day keeps repeating over and over as Tru tries to save Michael Mancuso. She poses as a case worker and learns about Michael's daughter who is diagnosed with a serious heart condition. When he can't afford the medicine to help his daughter, he resorts to robbing.

The "Valentine Killer" has killed at least five other victims, all around Valentine's. The next victim asks for Tru's help out at a cabin site. The day rewinds, but, as Tru changes events, the one out at the cabin is Lindsay - around the time of the murder.

Tru becomes a contestant in a beauty pageant to prevent the death of another one. Tru confronts her feelings for Luc when she finds out about his date.

Meredith, Tru, and Harrison meet in a restaurant. Meredith invited Jordan Davies, their step-mother. Jordan asks them not to be mad at Mer (as she calls Meredith) and that she is here because she wants to offer their father something special for their father who's turning 50. What she wants his Richard to spend his birthday with his kids, from both marriages. Harrison and Tru are really not thrilled. Meredith seems in on this with Jordan as she knows a lot about the gathering which is scheduled that night. Jordan tells them that they don't have to bring gifts, only showing up will be enough. Tru mentions that she would have liked her father to show up for her 10 last birthdays... Later, when reliving the day, Tru is in a bakery with Jordan choosing a cake. She inquires about if Jordan will meet someone before going back to the hotel where the gathering is supposed to be held. But Tru sees that Jordan loves her father even though the man only let one woman really get to know him and that was Tru's mother. Later that day, Tru and Jordan walk in a park. Tru looks everywhere as she doesn't want to save Jordan from the attack that is going to leave her dead. A man approaches and Tru fights him... he gets a good look of Tru's face and slowly smiles then leaves. Tru recognizes him and thinks he may be the same man who killed her mother. Tru talks with her father about Jordan and she says that she may have saved Jordan but she is not about to forget the past (she thinks that her father had an affair with Jordan). Richard tells Tru that long overdued story of him and Jordan. The story will also reveal to Tru a secret life her mother was having, a Calling. That evening, Tru will go to the birthday party where she'll discover that the man who attacked Jordan in the park is a guest... will Tru learn the truth about her mother's death? Davis interviews a man named Jack for a job at the morgue. Harrison and Davis talk about Tru's gift.

The Getaway

So far in the redo day, Tru was able to stop a couple of robbers from robbing an arcade and a liquor store. They are doing it for the kick and the money and plan to stop when things go bad As they are outside a dinner ready to go down to business, the man, Charlie, decides not to go ahead. Beth takes the gun and heads out ready to see this through. Tru and an off duty cop are waiting inside the dinner. As Beth's plan unveils, Tru tries to convince her to not go ahead with it.

Harrison wants to help Tru saving the lives of two people since she can't do it alone this time. She relunctantly agree. Harrison will have to save a 19-year-old named Melissa Lee who'll commit suicide while Tru will take care of a man named Geoffrey, a man of many names and jobs. Harrison isn't finding it as easy as he had expected it to be.

Death Becomes Her

Tru buys herself a car. She admits to Harrison that she hasn't be to their mother's grave in a while... is it because she hasn't forgiven her for not telling them about her secret? Harrison will have dinner with Lindsay and her sister. Lindsay will prep him before the dinner on topics to avoid with her sister. Carly Anders, an actress, visits the morgue to help her with her next movie role. She's accompanied by her assistant, Anna. Davis, but mostly Tru, take her on a tour of the morgue, explain how it works, and answer her questions. Tru and Carly connect because both have this pressuring lifestyle. Carly will be hit by an SUV and end up dead in the water. Tru will relive the day to prevent her death.

Tru, with Davis, have a man named Chris drop by the morgue so they can buy something from him (he says the he sells things that help keep the patients out of a morgue). Chris will be the one asking for help in the morgue. Tru and Davis ask Chris questions about his job and also who he is since they think he stole some woman's identity. The thing is, it's Chris who had his identity stolen by a woman and the police know it. He tells Tru and Davis to warn the woman she should stop using his identity now before he finds her. Chris (female) admits her fault and offers to pay Chris (male) so he stops harassing her because she stole his identity. Tru brings both Chris's together so the female can try and give the male money to try and make amends. Tru delivers a package that was wrongly sent to her to Tim, who lives upstairs from her. Tim looks at neighbors using a telescope. He goes rescue Chris (female), whom he's been watching and fell in love with without knowing who she is, when Chris (male) goes to her apartment even after Tru told him not to anymore. That's what caused, the first day, Chris (male)'s death. Jack appears in the episode.

Tru and Davis remain stunned by the revelation that Jack can relive days like Tru. Excited to have a new partner, Tru teams up with Jack to ensure a doctor's dying wish to help others in his life, but as the day progresses, Tru becomes increasingly suspicious of Jack's intentions. When a young Harbor Patrol officer dies in a white squall while rescuing some students and asks for help, Tru has to compete against Jack to save her life.

Tru is in class checking out a cadaver and gets chosen as a lab partner by three folks impressed by her answering Professor Seidel's question (in "Perfect Storm"). One of her new partners, Jensen Richie, has his perfume gift for a girlfriend broken. Tru meets with Harrison, who is taking pictures in an assault & battery case for their dad Richard and following the plaintiff to a boxing game. Davis shares an awkward lunch with Dr. Allen before she takes off. Later he confesses his poor social skills to Tru as they receive a delivery to the morgue, who asks her for help and . . . rewind. She wakes up in class but only gets blamed for the perfume spillage when she can't stop it.......

When there's a death at the morgue during Tru's birthday party, and the victim's identity is obscured by darkness, Tru grows convinced that the victim is one of her friends, while Davis concludes it's Carrie who will die.
