Southland (2009)
Unknown Trouble
The first day on the job for a rookie cop isn't going to be easy, especially when his training officer is tough-as-nails veteran Officer John Cooper. Meanwhile, Det. Lydia Adams investigates the disappearance of a little girl who had vanished while playing ball.
Mozambique
An investigation is opened when Officers Cooper, Sherman, and Brown find an abandoned baby in the middle of an intersection. However, the case proves to be too close to home for Det. Adams, whose involvement with the investigation forces her to deal with past issues. Meanwhile, Detectives Bryant and Moretta find themselves in a difficult situation when they can't seem to gather sufficient funds to place a teenager under police protection for her safety.

Officer Sherman reveals details of his past that explain his motivation to be a cop. Meanwhile, Officer Brown questions her partnership with Officer Dewey when the latter becomes starstruck and fails to do his job.

When Detectives Adams and Clarke investigate jewelry thieves who are targeting homes in Bel Air, Officer Sherman becomes involved personally when he discovers he knows one of the victims. Meanwhile, as Bryant and Moretta prepare Janilla for trial, Det. Bryant uses unconventional means to insure her safety.
Derailed
After a member of Marta Ruiz's Avenue gang is found dead, Detective Bryant persuades Det. Adams to help Janilla. Meanwhile, the rift between Det. Salinger and his teenage daughter continues to deepen.
Phase Three
While struggling with the stress of her professional and personal life, Det. Lydia Adams and her new partner, Det. Rene Cordero, investigate the possible kidnapping of an elderly man by a known drug addict. Det. Sammy Bryant and Det. Nate Moretta join a drug task force after investigating a freeway shooting. Officer Ben Sherman tries to deal with his partner's addiction to pain medication. Officer Chickie Brown finds herself in the middle of a riot after her new partner shoots at a teenaged boy.
Butch & Sundance
Officers Cooper and Sherman are the first to arrive on the scene in Hancock Park where a mother has been beaten to death and her young daughters are assaulted and murdered in their bedrooms. Personality conflicts continue to build between Det. Adams and her new partner. Sherman confronts his partner about Cooper's increasing reliance on pain killers.
U-Boat
Alone for the first time in a patrol car, Officer Sherman handles the case of a missing girl and a stalker. Detectives Salinger and Bryant find it difficult to work with Det. Puente, the leader of the gang task force. Now partnered with Officer Cooper, Officer Brown struggles to gain command presence and to prove herself.
The Runner
When a student is murdered at USC in Compton, Det. Adams and Det. Cordero investigate the case. Officers Cooper and Sherman attend a funeral in Indian Wells and visit Officer Dewey, who is in a halfway house. Det. Adams and her mother deal with a long-time issue between them.
What Makes Sammy Run?
Two gangbangers are killed when gangsters open fire in a crowded night club and the shootings are connected to an officer. Tensions rise between Det. Salinger and Det. Puente on the gang task force. Marital problems are exacerbated when Sammy Bryant learns Tammi has been photographing gang members as he tries to prevent a young boy from destroying his life by joining a gang.

Officers Cooper, Sherman and Brown are dispatched as part of a maximum deployment to catch a rapist who is impersonating a police officer. Det. Clarke returns as Lydia's partner to investigate a double homicide. Det. Salinger's wife learns of his affair with Mia Sanchez through his daughter.

Detective Sammy Bryant continues to stay at his partner's home as he sorts out his marital difficulties. With Josie Ochoa in court, Detective Adams deals with a drug-related murder case by herself.
The Winds
Detectives Adams and Ochoa are assigned a complicated rape case on the Westside. Officer John Cooper bonds with an abandoned teenager while also having to deal with testifying at his own father's parole hearing.
Cop or Not
Detective Adams discovers there are good and bad consequences involved with being in the spotlight as she works on a celebrity's murder. Detective Bryant goes out on patrol as Officers Cooper and Sherman become frustrated with a tedious security detail.
