Pilot

Melinda is caught in a tug of war with "Wide Brim" over Andrea's fate following a tragic plane crash. Melinda is greatly concerned when it seems that Andrea is being influenced by "Wide Brim." She goes to Professor Rick Payne, an expert in occult beliefs and history, to see if he can identify "Wide Brim" in order to win the battle for her friend's fate. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Melinda, a young man who seems to be obsessed with her makes plans to fly from Seattle to see her.
Love Still Won't Die (2)
Melinda is confronted by a troubled spirit who refuses to reveal his face to her. Melinda is haunted by the spirit of a young man who wants her to visit his wife, Donna (Chabert), to make amends. When she does so, Melinda discovers that Donna is his former wife who divorced him because he was obsessed with his ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, Melinda meets Delia Banks (Manheim), the mother of a boy who is determined to steal some valuable memorabilia from her store, and Melinda is surprised to find out what is really motivating him.
Drowned Lives
Melinda must find out why the spirit of a 6-year-old girl who drowned in the family swimming pool is unwilling to cross over. Melinda and Jim befriend a new couple whose home is haunted by a 6-year-old girl who drowned in their swimming pool. While Melinda uncovers why the child's spirit wreaks havoc in the house, she also meets the girl's brother who blames himself for his sister's death. Meanwhile, Delia, who sold the couple the house, would like to stop them from moving out.
The Ghost Within
Melinda encounters a ghost that doesn't appear to see or hear her and seems to be attached to a box of handmade ornaments that Delia insists Melinda buy. Melinda senses something strange about the ornaments that she and Delia come across at a flea market and is puzzled by the ghost that comes along with them who refuses to acknowledge her. When Melinda picks up any of the objects, she sees wild images that appear to be in the ghost's mind, which may be his only way of communicating with her. She decides to visit Professor Payne to see if he can explain the phenomenon.
